‘Much loved’ mum found dead near football fields


A family has paid tribute to a ‘loved daughter, sister, mum and aunty’ who was found dead near a football field.
Angela Shellis, 45, was found in Prestatyn, north Wales, in the early hours of Friday morning.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder a short time later.
Her family issued a brief statement in which they said Angela would be ‘sadly missed.’
DCI Andy Gibson said: ‘The family are being supported by specialist trained officers and ask their privacy is respected during this tragic time.’

‘I am appealing to anyone who was in or around the Morfa area near to the football fields on Friday October 24 between 3am and 8.30am.
‘Whether you believe you have anything of significance to offer the investigation, it is imperative that we identify any persons in the area during these key times.’
He added: ‘I urge people not to speculate about the incident online. If you were in the area during these times please contact North Wales Police.’
Gareth Davies, Senedd Member for the Vale of Clwyd constituency, said: ‘This is just horrendous.
‘Please follow all of the police advice regarding this matter and do come forward if you have any information.
‘Let’s give this poor lady and her family all of the respect and justice they so rightly deserve.’
