Brothers ‘left girl, 17, with serious injury after high-speed crash’ on millionaire’s row

Two brothers are accused of speeding around the millionaire’s row of Sandbanks and causing a crash that seriously hurt a 17-year-old girl.
Henry, 21, and Harrison Taylor, 19, were allegedly in separate cars, a BMW 135i and a Mercedes A200, racing each other around the exclusive peninsula in Poole Harbour in Dorset when the accident happened.
The Mercedes left Banks Road, which has a 30mph speed limit, and collided with a gatepost to one of the multi-million pound mansions.
The girl, Mia Savage, was in the front seat passenger seat of the Mercedes and suffered injuries described as life-changing.
She had to be cut out of the crumpled car and airlifted to hospital.

The men have now appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
They did not enter any pleas and the case was deemed too serious to be dealt with at magistrates and sent to Bournemouth Crown Court.

The brothers, who turned up at court with their parents, live at their father Robert’s £1.2m harbourside home in the Lilliput area of Poole.
It is alleged that on Boxing Day 2023 property consultant Harrison, was driving the Mercedes while his brother Henry, was driving the BMW with another friend in the passenger seat.
David Finney, prosecuting, said the accident happened in the early hours of the morning.
‘There is a collision between two vehicles – A200 Mercedes driven by Harrison Taylor, with Mia Savage a front seat passenger, and a BMW driven by Henry Taylor,’ he continued.

‘The two are brothers and the passengers are all friends with one another. They had been at a single address before the collision and left the address to drive a loop.
‘They all drove onto Banks Road.
‘The crown’s case is they were racing each other.
‘Mia Savage was mechanically trapped with her legs and extraction was required by fire and rescue. She was helicoptered to Southampton hospital.
‘She sustained life-changing injuries.’
The two brothers were released on unconditional bail and will appear at Bournemouth Crown Court next month.
