‘I looked out of my apartment’s window and saw an ambulance team attending to a clotheless man on the ground, who seemed to have a wound on his right side of his body around his chest area. He was moaning. I also thought he was a very large man, tall.

‘After about 30 minutes, the emergency medical team transferred the man on a soft stretcher; he was alive.’

Councillor Natasha Ennin told Metro: ‘I’m horrified and deeply saddened by the deaths of two men in our borough today. My heartfelt condolences go to their families and friends.’

‘There are extra police in the Long Lane area this evening and we will remain in close contact with police as they continue their investigation.’

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond said that the incident is not terror-related.
