Donald Trump’s helicopter made emergency landing in UK after state visit

President Donald Trump’s helicopter made an emergency landing in the UK as he prepared to leave the country after his second official state visit.

Marine One, which was also carrying First Lady Melania Trump, was forced to land at a British airfield on Thursday night.

‘Due to a minor hydraulic issue, and out of an abundance of caution, the pilots landed at a local airfield before reaching Stansted Airport,’ said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

‘The president and first lady safely boarded the support helicopter.’

The Trumps got aboard Air Force One and took off for Washington.

Trump arrived about 20 minutes late after the traveling press pool, and the White House did not give a reason for the delay.

He joked with reporters about the matter during a gaggle after takeoff.

‘Fly safely. You know why I say that? Because I’m on the flight,’ Trump chuckled.

‘Otherwise, I wouldn’t care.’
