Severe London rail delays after person hit by a train

Passengers heading into London Liverpool Street are facing cancellations and hour-long delays after a person was hit by a train.
The person was hit between Colchester and Chelmsford at about 8am, disrupting all Greater Anglia trains running between the two stations.
Emergency services had been investigating the scene since then, causing a major knock-on effect to surrounding services.
Their work was finished by about midday, meaning trains can now run on the line again.
However there are still residual delays in the area while service recovers.
National Rail warns passengers could still face hour-long delays, cancellations, or revisions to their timetabled service.

Service is expected to get back to normal by around 1pm.
Passengers are able to use their tickets on the Elizabeth line between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street at no extra cost, and those with advance tickets will be able to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.

Passengers were facing half-hour delays on top of their normal journey time as they were asked to use an alternative route.
Disruption went on until around 10am, impacting most of the Monday morning rush hour.
